Writerfox Arrives! (Requisite Introductory Post)

Jul 25, 2008 12:42am

Hey there, everyone! It's been a while since I've expanded my social networking through, uh, another social networking site, and so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm ignoring my own natural impulse to tell myself that I'm too busy (which is working rather well, I might say), and I'm excited to see what might come of getting myself ensconced here.

To start off, I like to think that I'm a pretty outgoing, easygoing person who isn't hard to get along with. I like meeting people and talking to people and establishing connections in this little fandom of ours, which, year by year, keeps getting less little. I think that's a good thing, really, but it does require effort to keep up with, which I suppose is part of why I'm here to begin with. Right now, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (which if you don't know is something almost like a local Furry Mecca), and so it can be all too easy to get caught up just in local stuff alone and not see and experience what all else is going on out there.

I'm also a furry writer! Mostly, I write short stories. I've got a small collection of them online, over at FurRag, but the bulk of my 'available' short fiction is all out in printed anthologies, including "New Fables" and "ROAR." Recently, I've also had the good fortune of getting my first novel published; it's called Thousand Leaves, and it's put out by Sofawolf Press. (If you're interested, you can take a look here: http://www.sofawolf.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=85

But enough of trying to pimp myself! For my actual day job, I work as a video game producer for one of the many companies here in the area. Specifically, I work in localization, handling games originally developed in Japan for release in the U.S. It's a pretty fun job, most of the time, but work is still work, so it's not all fun and games. Still, it's hard to complain too much about having a job that overlaps with a hobby.

Other than that, my other hobbies probably overlap a lot with those of other furries. I'm a big fan of tabletop role-playing games (I'm currently running campaigns for both Star Wars and Ironclaw and playing in an Iron Kingdoms game), and I'm also a fan of board games (mostly the European ones!). I also like the simpler things in life, like drinking and partying, running myself ragged on excess amounts of coffee, and occasionally flirting way too much for my own good.

So, that's me! Hopefully this'll go someplace neat.

    Greetings, and welcome to MyFursona!

And yeah, the furry fandom/culture/society/whatever-the-cool-kids-are-calling-it-these-days :-p keeps on inflating.

Keeps on growing. I meant "growing." Yeah, that's the ticket. :-p
