Xerxes' Wednesday Community Update #5

Dear Furries,

Featurewise, we've had a couple updates. You may notice up in the right corner, you can now add a blog or image from anywhere on the site. Also, in a feature I added ALL BY MYSELF YAAAAY, blogs and news updates are truncated on the front page and your user page so that you don't have this looooooong column on the left messing up the page. However, you can click "read more" to see the whole thing if that happens.

Communitywise, I'd like to start an initiative to get more artists noticed. Every Wednesday, as part of your community update, I'll feature a great image by a great artist, preferably one who's gone unnoticed.

This week, it's Drooling Fiend by ~DragoniaKMP.

Drooling Fiend is, just that, a drooling fiend. But the art style combined with the granitey background just screams "Aztec" to me. It's really unique, and you should check it out. The other piece in her gallery, Nuzzle, evokes a similar Aztec-y vibe, especially with the rightmost character's hair. I'm looking forward to seeing more from her on MyFursona.

It's nice that you did the read more thing. Like how the page isn't streatched out anymore. ^^ Plus it'd would be nice that you not only fo an artist thing as I'm not an artist myself. Just a photographer, so it'd be nice to have just what Farellemoon said.

Oh, I noticed the neat feature change right away! Very spiffy to have the convenience of launching those two from anywhere and the column change was nice.

The featured artist thing is a spiffy idea! However, a long string of very wonderful yet non-artistic furs have joined this groovy little networking site in hopes of being able to stand out just a bit, in a fandom so focused on art, by putting themselves out there in other ways. Maybe an outstanding community recognition spotlight would be neat to add on a weekly basis as well. =D That way people who aren't artists but are still active furs of MyFursona.com won't get pressed into the back ground or intimidated as has happened on so many other furry websites. =)
