Freundian Slip
This afternoon, I was at the local library, minding my own business, when this guy comes up to me and asks where to find a particular book. I tried to say, "How the Hell should I know, do I look like the librarian here?!?", but what I actually said was, "Sorry, I don't know." This actually happens to me quit a lot. Not strangers asking me for information I couldn't possibly be expected to have, I'm talking about being polite to these people when I don't mean to be. I call this a Freundian slip, from the German word for 'friend'. Why am I always friendly to morons when I try not to? Grrr...
