someone new to being a fur

i just wanted to say hello out there to everyone in the community, and was hoping to make some new friends. i am relatively new to the fur community, have only been involved in it for just a few months, and still know almost nothing as well as no one who is a fur or who is in the community. i was first introduced to furs by a girl that i used to date, and she kind of got me in to it, but seeing as that she is/was the only fur that i knew, and we are no longer speaking, leaves me not really knowing anyone or having any other fur friends...my friends as of now have generally been accepting about my discovery, but still make comments here and there about how different i am and how strange knowing a fur is for them. i was able to stumble on to this website through wikifur, which i had discovered earlier this year when i had looked up "furry" in either wikipedia or google (i cant remember which one though). so i guess i just want to say hi to everyone out there and am hoping to get a good response back.

    and there are quite alot of furs out there but you just gotta look hard ; ) for example, i just found out that there is one in my high school! ^_^ dont i feel lucky : )
