If the best things in life are free, then why does an education cost money?
In most of the high schools here in Northern FL, you can't pass until you purchase something from the school. And yes, it hurts your grade. For example, you get an F and 4 points taken away if you're not wearing the school's most recent gym uniform, which costs 20 dollars. Summer reading for advanced classes? All of the books total up to around 25 bucks. Lab fee, 10 bucks. Tool belt, reflective vest, construction boots, safe goggles, and safety glasses add up to an additional 50 dollars if you buy cheap. 105 dollars to pass your freshman year, another 105 your sophomore year, junior year, etc. In order for me to graduate from high school, I must spend 420 dollars.
Which of course, my family can't afford to spend on school things other than folders, pencil, and paper. I'm not angry at my parents, not by a long shot, I understand we're not destined to spend our golden years in a luxury mansion with a heated pool. I'm 100% accustomed to and happy with the house we live in now, but I am angry at the school system, it's total bull shit that you can't pass without paying up 400 dollars.
"You children are the future of America.
WAIT NVM LOL, JUST THE RICH KIDS."
I've got a test Monday on the summer reading books. You can't buy them on weekends, I can't find a PDF for the life of me, and even if dad did buy them tomorrow, there's no way I could take it all in and be ready for a test. Of course I would spend my entire weekend reading, but I have a severe lack of confidence in myself as far as such test-taking goes. So the upcoming midterm will be stacked high with D's and F's because I couldn't pay up. My entire carpentry class will hate me because I had to be the one kid who didn't bring his shit, preventing everybody from finally going out to the shop to cut wood. On top of that, I'll be grounded for filling up my plate with shit grades the first month of school. AND YES, THIS IS A PUBLIC MOTHERFUCKING SCHOOL.
...I think I understand why people drop out of school. :(
Look at my first post, bish! I'm worth the click, trust me. :P

"And the lot of you are hateful bastards. You only look at people, look at some words in the bible and take them out of context, and claim that your imaginary friend God hates this group, so you should, too."
God doesn't hate anybody.
"Christians......you all have great lives. Lives so great, you treat the most trivial things as awful, such as not getting a cell phone, or getting banned from a website, or not being able to date the girl you like because she likes somebody else."
Dude, just because we're Christians doesn't mean our lives are great. I'm a Christian, and my life sucks.
"not being able to date the girl you like because she likes somebody else."
Where'd you get THAT? -_-
