This FAQs is now an official MyFursona FAQs. If anyone sees any errors or has any new information that I've missed, please show me so I can update this with the appropriate information in the next version.

The Site
Q: What is the purpose of MyFursona?
A: Stated simply, MyFursona aims to be the best online social networking service for the Furry Fandom.

Q: Who owns MyFursona?
A: @KovuTheHusky owns MyFursona. In addition to being the founder, he is the Head Coder for MyFursona.

Q: Who else is involved with MyFursona?
A: Currently those also involved are @Xerxes and ^Drakky, the Community Managers; @xcxeon, the Security Coder; @Tori Belliachi, the Graphic Designer, and ^Radric, the Help Desk Manager.

Q: What are the site domains for MyFursona?
A: The domains for MyFursona are the following: www.myfursona.com (the main site), www.myfursona.net (the forums), and www.myfursona.org (a placeholder).

Q: Does MyFursona have a mascot?
A: Yes, MyFursona's mascot is ~Orson.

Q: If MyFursona goes down, where can I go to find out what's going on with the site?
A: You can visit MyFursona's LiveJournal account or the Site Status section of MyFursona's forums.

Q: How do I edit my profile?
A: Click on the "User CP" next to "+Blog" and "+Pic", at the far right of the page. You will be directed to a page where you can edit the various parts of your profile and where you can upload your avatar.

Q: I was logged out of my account after I had worked on my profile. Did I do something wrong?
A: Currently MyFursona has disabled the site's ability to "remember" you, so you will be logged out of your account if you're inactive for a period of time. As a security measure, the "Remember me" feature was disabled after someone had found an exploit in the site's code at the end of April 2008. This is a feature that the coders plan to re-establish, but there is currently no set date for its return. In the meantime, if you wish to enter something lengthy into your profile, save your progress frequently. Or, you can type your information in a word processor and then copy and paste it into the profile text boxes.

Q: I entered and saved my personal quote. Why did it disappear when I went to my User CP again?
A: Chances are that you used a quotation mark in your personal quote. For now, instead of using a quotation mark, use two apostrophes, if you must have a quotation mark in your quote.

Q: I entered and saved my personal quote. Why does only part of it show up on my page?
A: It's likely that you entered more than 255 characters into the personal quote text box. The personal quote text box can only remember up to 255 characters. Each letter, number, puncutation mark, and space counts as a character. Any characters beyond the 255th will not show because they are lost.

Q: How do I look for someone on MyFursona?
A: One way is to use type in a user's name in the Search text box and submit it. Another way is to click on the Users tab. The default option is New Users, which sorts the members ten at a time according to the most recent and working backwards. The other option is Alphabetic, which displays the total number of users and lists all the users alphabetically on one page.

Q: Where can I find MyFursona's Terms of Service (TOS)?
A: You can view MyFursona's TOS here. It is still under review and therefore subject to change.

Submissions
Q: Where can I find MyFursona's Submission Policy?
A: You can view MyFursona's Submission Policy here. It is still under review and therefore subject to change.

Q: How do I post a journal entry to my blog?
A: Click on the "+Blog" link at the top right of your page.

Q: How do I submit an image to my gallery?
A: Click on "+Pic" at the top right of your page.

Q: I see that the only option for uploads is images, but is there any way to submit literary works?
A: Currently, the best option is to act as though you were going to upload an image to your gallery. For the image, upload any picture that you feel is relevant to your literary work. For the image title, type in the literary title or the chapter title of your work. Then, enter the body of your literary work into the description text area, either by copying and pasting the literary work into the text area or just by typing the literary work directly into the text area. If you wish, you can also make a blog entry announcing that you have uploaded your literary work into your gallery.

Bugs
Q: Where do I go to report a bug?
A: Currently MyFursona's Helpdesk is closed. However, you can send an email to bugs@myfursona.com, or you can post at the Website Support section of the MyFursona forum.

Registering at the forum is not required to post in the support sections. When submitting a post there, you will be asked to provide a user name, a subject, and a confirmation code. The confirmation code is a combination of letters and numbers presented within a boxed image. You type the confirmation code into the entry line below the image. If you can't read the confirmation code for any reason, reload the page to display a new confirmation code.

Be as detailed as possible when submitting a bug report. The more information you can provide about the bug, the more it will help the coders to determine the cause of the bug.

Q: How long will it take for (a certain bug) to be fixed?
A: Right now there are no set timetables for when certain bugs will be fixed. The coders are working to the best of their abilities and when they can in order to fix the site's bugs.

Features
Q: What are the three little white and blue boxes to the far right of the user's name?
A: Those are the "Add as Friend", "Add a comment", and "Pounce!" buttons.

Q: What does "Pounce!" do?
A: According to @Tori Belliachi, "the Pounce button sends an email to that user telling them they've been pounced. It's like Facebook's 'Poke' feature, only ours! =D" If you're familiar with LiveJournal, it's also similar to the "Nudge" feature.

Q: What's the purpose of that red "Random!" link?
A: When you click on that link, you will be randomly directed to the home page of a MyFursona user. It's an interesting way to look for potential new friends.

Q: What's the purpose of that "Remixed" link?
A: @Tori Belliachi is exprimenting with a new style, and clicking on the "Remixed" link will display the page in the new style. He is looking for feedback, which you can provide in this thread at the MyFursona forums.

Q: I'm using the Remixed blog entry/image upload window, but I've decided that I don't want to write a blog/to upload an image right now. How do I get out of the window?
A: Click on the "Close" button at the bottom.

Q: I'm at the Remixed blog entry/image upload window, but I'd rather use the original version. How do I get to it?
A: Click on the "Large Editor" button at the bottom.

Q: I performed a search for something. Why aren't my image results matching what I searched?
A: According to @KovuTheHusky, the coders are "in the process of changing the tagging system... So it's not working right now."

Q: Why can't I edit my blog entries?

Q: Why don't I receive notices when my friends write new blogs or upload new images?
Q: Why doesn't MyFursona have (a certain feature)?
A: MyFursona is still undergoing development. The coders are continuously working to add features which will enrich the MyFursona experience. A list of features that have been implemented and are planned for development can be found here.

Q: I have a great idea for a site feature! Where can I offer my suggestion?
A: You can go here to suggest a feature. It is the same place where you can report bugs. As with reporting bugs, you do not need to register at the forums to suggest a feature, and the same posting process applies.

Miscellaneous
According to @Tori Belliachi, there is "an issue with the User CP, in which Firefox users (who've set FF to remember their registration details) get an error due to Firefox automatically inserting their email address into the account email fields, which gives an error on submitting."
