Keeping My Big, Triangle-Shaped Ears Open

It seems to me that folks here on this site tend to have a decently high interest in things like furry writing (which I've mentioned is a good thing!).

Out of curiosity, I wonder if anyone here might have read Thousand Leaves. One thing about the furry fandom is that it's hard to find book reviews, really, and since the book is written under my real name and not my furry name, my guess is that most people who have read it wouldn't know how to get in touch with me even if they wanted to.

I know that the book has been selling decently well (especially for a non-adult book!). I was wondering if maybe any buzz or good word had been flitting around these parts about it.

About

I'm a San Francisco Bay Area red fox who like to write and read, likes to be happy and friendly and social, and who tries to just be fun and easygoing.

I'm also a video game producer, specializing in Japanese-English localization, as well as a published furry author.

I like

...a whole lot of things, really, but mostly, I love the furry fandom and the social outlet it provides. Furry conventions are the highlights of my year, and I'm so happy to have met so many awesome people through this quirky little hobby of ours.

I listen

...to a very broad spectrum of things, embracing a kind of disjointed sense of musical taste. I'm a big fan of power metal (Nightwish, Kamelot), prog rock (Rush), popular alternative (KT Tunstall, Garbage), actual alternative (The Cure, Morrissey), synthpop (Freezepop, Assemblage 23), world music (Hedningarna, Heather Alexander). Seriously, just about anything.

I watch

...mostly continuing drama series; my current big favorites are Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Heroes, and Doctor Who.

I've also been a big fan of Buffy, Arrested Development, Journeyman, Life on Mars, Veronica Mars, and many others. I'm sure you can sense a pattern.

I play

...video games, board games, and tabletop roleplaying games.

I'm big on "non-casual" board games, like Arkham Horror, Caylus, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, and that style of game.

For my pen and paper stuff, I'm big on Ironclaw, Iron Kingdoms, and Star Wars. I also play a smattering of Battlelords and Feng Shui.

I read

...a lot! Some of my favorite authors include David Mitchell, David Sedaris, David Weber, David Foster Wallace, and a number of other people who aren't named 'David,' like Kazuo Ishiguro and Aimee Bender.

For furry literature, I'm a big fan of Tim Susman and Kyell Gold. For the, uh, 'less literary' types of furry fiction, I also kinda dig the occasional thing from writers like FuzzWolf or Veritas.

Well hello there. And wow... a game producer? For what company?

And great to see yet another person in the Bay Area. Drop me an e-mail or IM sometime?

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I didn't really expect too many people to read, so... Yeah. But, yes. Thanks. ^^
And I'm sorry for my somewhat generic thank-you, but... Meh. Yeah. >_

    日本語は勉強している。しかし、私が下手んです。

Truthfully, my acquisition of Japanese a bit fragmented and I've got gaps here and there. I'm self-taught...so the consequence is a serious deficiency in conversation skills.
