Anthrocon Recap

This is an EXTREMELY long post C&P'd from my LJ. Deal with it. :V

I am dealing with an AWFUL head cold. It hasn't gotten better, and it hasn't gotten terribly worse, but I noticed I'm starting to develop a chest cough. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I loathe being sick. God.

We got back from Pittsburgh at around midnight last night. Which was nice.

Anthrocon was amazing. Seriously. For all the stress we went through beforehand, it was totally worth it even if we didn't debut the one suit and I didnt' make as much money as I hope, it was still fucking awesome.

We roomed with Mitsene, her boyfriend Dan, Luve, Kittiara and Haze. Everyone was FUCKING AWESOME and we all got along (well, Kittiara wasn't there too much, but she was nice!). Luve and TJ drank a bottle of gin together and got fucking wasted. TJ spent two or three hours talking politics and the world at large with Dan. We later had to retrieve Luve from another room later in the evening. The funniest thing was watching Luve and TJ, both very, very drunk, helping each other walk back up to our room. It was like the blind leading the blind.

I ended up sleeping in front of the bathroom for a few hours because TJ fell asleep with her head on the toilet because she'd moved around too much and thought she had to vomit. I knew waking her up would only lead to misery, so I let her sleep and woke up every thirty minutes to check on her. Eventually I found her using the towels on the floor as a pillow and I managed to get her back into bed.

She woke up STILL drunk-ish. And then got hit by a combination of sinus bullshit and general hangover. Squeeji manned my table while I escoreted TJ back to the hotel so she could get a nap.

I made it into Artists Alley on Saturday, which rocked. Only made $60 which didn't rock as much, sadly. But it was fun and got to watch the entertainment of Arphalia gifting Luve with a pair of plastic-y aqua-colored panties, which she wore for awhile. And then Dan put them on. Then he put GOLDFISH CRACKERS in them and walked around handing them out to folks.

We didn't buy much. TJ got a little screaming bat plush, a sexy bat print from DarkNatasha. We also picked up Pillow Talk and Love Can Be Different from Club Stripes. As well as a few buttons. Cause I love buttons. I might some keychains from Arphalia, a hyena pin from PaintedDog, and some stickers (OPOSSUM AND THYLACINE!!) from...Tod, who's art I'd never seen before! I also got Artspots pins! Yaaaay!

I also FINALLY dropped badges off with people! Yay!

Skech got photos of my ass, TJ sat on Captian Jack's lap, I squealed like a fucking fantard (but not in front of him!) when I heard Beetlejuice SPEAK, I walked FAR too much and ate far too little (barely more than once a day, but I did eat each day). But I drank a lot of fluids and had lots of tea (OMG, Crazy Mocha's Vanilla Spice Chai is amazing. And I say that about VERY LITTLE chai.).

Saturday evening, we got a pretty cool storm. We watched these huge, heavy grey clouds roll in over the hotel and then just pelting Pittsburgh with rain, hail, lightning and thunder.

We were watching Scorpion King at the time and Dan called another random room to ask how it ended, because the satellite TV cut out. He actually got a serious answer, which was even better. After the storm passed, we watched some of Men In Black (speaking of, I'm going to fangirl in a moment...) and then I took a bath and me and TJ took a nap until Squeeji and Elliot returned to the room so we could head out.

Before we departed, we got to see Dan in a dress and pigtails. Good note to leave on! :D :D

The drive home consisted of TJ and Squeeji discussing Tony Stark's secret kinks. I will not go into that, I'd like to NOT scar people with...oh god, the things they said...

Now, for fangirling: NEXT YEAR'S THEME IS FUCKING ALIENS FUCK YEAH WE'RE DOING FUCKING ELLE AND F BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING MIB AGENTS AND WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR YEARS I SHIT YOU NOT.

Now that THAT'S over with!

Got up this morning, too Squeeji and Elliot to the bus station. Dropped them off after goodbyes that consisted of 'lol butts' and we went down to 30th to check out the new asian grocery store, Park To Shop.

It was...wow. SUPER clean. Cleanest asian market I've ever been to. Not that they're DIRTY, persay. But this one felt like an actual grocery store. Nice, wide aisles and a selection of stuff we hadn't seen anywhere else. I picked up some new things, like Thai Tea and Honey and Apple Milk Tea, which is suprisingly flowery. We also grabbed a four pack of HALLOWEEN POCKY. I don't know why it's out NOW, but it is. Strawberry, PUMPKIN and Milk. I'm filled with glee.

We also stopped at the other asian stores, since we were there. Got some cute chopstick holders, a squid and a puffer fish. Some more snacky things, too, and more ot TJ's beloved seasoned seaweed.

On the way home we, ah, acquired two rats. People we going to dump them off at the PetLand in the mall (Chapel Hill) and we stepped in and offered to take them because PetCo takes shit care of their animals. So, two more male rats. One's a hairless, so TJ couldn't pass that up. And the other is a dumbo with curly fur, black eyes, and grey spots near his eyes. They're both VERY sweet.

Now, I need to clean cages and try to tidy up the room. It's still a wreck from pre-con mayhem. Plus, this post is getting VERY long. No, TJ, I'm not cutting it! :V
